Welcome to the homepage of Bio-inspired Systems Laboratory (BiSSL) led by Dr. Astrid Layton. We are a part of the design.tamu group in the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. Our research focuses on network design using analogies from ecology in a broad range of areas from industrial resources networks to energy, food, and water systems.
